Salary: $76,515 - $95,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

On behalf of our client, Clough Projects, we are recruiting. Instrumentation tradespersons maintain, install, modify, calibrate, commission and repair instruments and instrumentation used in measurement and control systems. These instruments measure and control temperature, pressure and flow in processes used in industries such as petro-chemical, mining, food and manufacturing.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Selects, installs, calibrates and checks sensing, telemetering and recording instrumentation and circuitry and develops specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment under test and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.
- Sketches and builds or modifies jigs, fixtures and instruments and related apparatus and verifies dimensional and functional acceptability of devices fabricated by craft or technical personnel.
- Installation of cable ladder.
- Installation and termination of electrical and control cabling.
- General electrical installations.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
- Installs or directs technical personnel in installation of unit in test chamber or other test facility.
- Operates test apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate and record effects of actual or simulated conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude and acceleration.
- Analyses and converts test data to usable form and prepares graphs and written reports to translate test results.
- Plan test program.
- Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce graphs.
- Commission and test instrument loops to assure correct functionability
- Complete documentation as per QA system to ensure correct and accurate installation, commissioning and operability
- Inductions and training.
- Understanding and complying with the company's policies.
- Working within the guidelines of the Quality and the OH&S system.
- Working under the guidance and direction of the host client.
- Adhering to all site work standards and guidelines.
- Participate, maintain and take responsibility for JHA/THA or equivalent hazard identification and mitigation processes as appropriate for the applicable site.
- Completion of any relevant documentation as required.
- Work in accordance with PNG Mine Safety Actand AS/NZS 3000, Newcrest Safety System, Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Work well with others, listen actively, seek inputs, and ask clarification questions to check understanding.
- Recognise problems and proactively works toward resolution under the guidance of immediate Supervisor.
- Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
- Trade qualification
- 5 years minimum experience in similar role;
- Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.
- Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
- Must have previous direct hire experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of the relevant discipline.
- Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline construction or shutdown operation.
- Knowledge of the project's HSE handbook, the supervisor's HSE manual, the project safety management plan and Cloughhs Target zero processs
