Old Canberra Inn is looking for a qualified chef that can handle a fast paced kitchen and maintain a keen eye for detail.
About the role
You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Contemporary menu implementation, attention to detail and plating techniques
- Following instructions from Head Chef
- Ability to work with fresh, high quality meats & seafood, and carefully manage suppliers
- A strong understanding of ordering and stock rotation, including stock take
- Unwavering food safety practices
- Ensuring that kitchen production and presentation is always excellent quality
- Ensuring that all workspaces are correctly setup prior to commencement of service
Key Selection Criteria
- 3+ years' full time work experience
- AQF Certificate IV or higher
- Exceptional organisation, communication and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, and unsupervised
- Available and willing to work rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
