About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high culinary standards, contributing to menu development, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to standard recipes
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Oversee preparation of raw ingredients and sauces
- Assist in planning menus and specials
- Develop new dishes and modify existing recipes
- Cater to dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free options
- Manage daily kitchen operations efficiently
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands
- Allocate tasks, monitor workflow, and maintain discipline
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
- Conduct regular equipment and safety checks
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed
- Inspect ingredients for quality
- Minimize food wastage and control portion costs
- Train junior staff in food preparation and kitchen procedures
- Mentor staff to maintain consistency and quality
- Promote teamwork and efficient service during peak periods
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
- Address customer requests and feedback regarding dishes
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Minimum 1-2 years of full-time experience as a Chef
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or relevant qualification
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for Indian cuisine and attention to detail
