Cook

• Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, lunch and cafe-style meals in accordance with established recipes and menu standards.
• Prepare sandwiches, focaccias, wraps, salads, pastries, hot food and other cafe products for dine-in, takeaway and catering orders.
• Prepare and cook meat, poultry, vegetables, pasta, rice and other ingredients using appropriate cooking methods and equipment.
• Assist in preparing catering orders, including platters, salads, hot food, sandwiches, sliders and breakfast items.
• Modify and prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, halal and dairyfree options.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, presentation and freshness to maintain consistent standards.
• Maintain food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Store, label and rotate food ingredients appropriately and assist with stock control and ordering of kitchen supplies.

Qualifications

• This cook position requires a formal Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, along with a minimum of two years' practical, hands-on experience in a busy kitchen.
