What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and standards
- Assisting in menu planning and development
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements
- Assist Cook in ordering and maintaining inventory levels
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Inspect and receive stock
- Providing excellent customer service and contributing to a positive dining experience
What business is looking for
- Certificate III or higher in commercial cookery. Alternatively, 3 years of experience can be used to substitute formal qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant role within the restaurant industry
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Food safety and hygiene awareness and ability to apply it in workplace
Other skills and requirements:
- Requiring a minimum of 1 year of work experience in a relevant role
- Good team player.
- A deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
