M K Equipment Services is seeking a qualified, experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team.

We are a busy, family-owned heavy vehicle workshop servicing a wide range of trucks, buses, trailers and commercial fleets. Our team prides itself on quality workmanship, strong customer relationships, and keeping vehicles safely on the road. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Brisbane workshop.

The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy vehicles including Volvo, Scania, Isuzu, Kenworth, Cummins-powered trucks, buses, trailers and specialised equipment.

Main Task:

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
  
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
  
• Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension, driveline, cooling, air, fuel and exhaust/emissions systems.
• Perform brake adjustments, inspections, testing and repairs.
• Service and repair heavy vehicle trailers and associated equipment.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
• Conduct road tests and operational checks to confirm repairs.
• Attend breakdowns and onsite repairs when required.
• Identify additional defects and report them to the Workshop Manager before undertaking unauthorised work.
• Accurately complete job cards, including labour, parts, faults identified and repairs performed.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Correctly use and care for workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and company property.
• Assist apprentices and other team members where required.
  

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Experience with European, American and Japanese trucks (Volvo, Scania, Isuzu, Kenworth etc.)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Good communication and attention to detail
• HR licence (advantageous but not essential)
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

A remuneration package between $76,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year plus superannuation.
