Position: Finance & Operations Accountant
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum inclusive Superannuation
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job description

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage and oversee trust account operations in line with NSW Fair Trading requirements and Office of State Revenue obligations.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for property owner accounts, including processing approved creditor invoices and managing scheduled payments.
  • Prepare and issue owner financial documentation including Owner Statements, arrears reporting, tenant statements and tailored account reports as required.
  • Monitor rent receipts and allocate income to owner accounts, ensuring correct disbursement and reporting.
  • Process mid-month, end of month and ad-hoc payments, including direct debit transactions and electronic payment processing.
  • Manage card payment processing using merchant facilities, ensuring accurate receipt and record keeping.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities for managed properties, assisting property managers with financial planning and reporting.
  • Maintain financial and operational data in property management systems, including setup of new properties, leases, tenants, suppliers and owners.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide timely reports, support month-end processes, and ensure service delivery standards are maintained.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required to support financial operations and stakeholder needs.
  • Contribute to business growth by promoting services to clients and stakeholders and supporting ongoing operational improvements.
Who you are and what you have to bring to the role
  • Excellent communications skills including written and verbal;
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines;
  • Intermediate computer skills acros Microsoft 365 products with an excellent aptitude of Excel & Xero is essential;
  • A willingness to learn and not be afraid to ask questions, be inquisitive, progressive and take ownership of the role;
  • Flexible, adaptable, has ability to problem solve;
  • Undertaking or completed an accounting related Degree or Diploma;
  • An interest in real estate is desirable but not essential.
