Position: HD Mechanic

Piacentini & Son is an earthmoving and mining contractor specialising in bulk earthworks, supply of mobile mining and earthmoving equipment, road haulage and mining rehabilitation services. We have over 500 employees around Australia with a head office in Bunbury, Western Australia. Piacentini & Son has a rich 80-year history of operations throughout Australia, supporting the mining and resources sectors with mining and earthmoving services.

We are seeking experienced HD Mechanics to join a newly awarded project in the Gascoyne region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major new development from the ground up. These roles will entail preventative and breakdown maintenance on our onsite mobile equipment. Roles will commence on a 2:1 days and nights roster.

• 2+ years experience in a similar role, mining or civil environment, working on large scale equipment
• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
• Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees
• Experience in repairing and maintaining our machinery such as: CAT, Liebherr, Hitachi, Komatsu & John Deere mining equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret detailed plans and diagrams
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
• Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen

Responsibilities

• Utilising your organisational skills to ensure you are stocked with the required parts & tools to undertake work on site.
• Complete scheduled repairs and maintenance of mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner using correct manual handling techniques.
• Perform diagnostics, problem solving, and fault finding accurately and in a timely manner.
• Strive for continuous improvement by identifying, interpreting and repair for reuse of any parts and accessories.
• Effectively work and communicate with other team members & clients on site to
  prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines.
• Able to work self-sufficiently, part of a team, autonomously, and conduct works in a
  professional manner.
• Ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a strong approach to safety
