New Era Colours Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Painter to join their growing team in Werribee, VIC. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary and the chance to work across a variety of residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality painting services while maintaining professional standards, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, patching, gap filling, scraping, pressure washing, and priming to ensure durability and quality finish
- Apply a wide range of paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, lacquers, and protective coatings using hand tools (brushes, rollers) and spray guns, based on surface type and project requirements
- Undertake interior and exterior painting for residential homes, apartments, office spaces, retail outlets, warehouses, and other commercial premises
- Mix and match paint colours with precision, including custom colour mixing to meet specific client expectations or architectural requirements
- Apply decorative finishes such as feature walls, textured coatings, and specialty paint effects (where applicable)
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organised job site—protecting surrounding areas with drop sheets, masking tape, and other protective materials
- Conduct final inspections and touch-ups to ensure a flawless finish before handover
- Adhere strictly to all OH&S and site safety requirements, including proper use of ladders, scaffolding, harnesses, and PPE
- Safely handle and store paints, thinners, and solvents in compliance with environmental regulations
- Accurately measure areas to determine required quantities of materials, minimising waste and ensuring cost-efficiency
- Identify surface issues such as dampness, mould, or cracks and recommend suitable treatment or repair prior to painting
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, project managers, team members, and clients to ensure timelines and expectations are met
- Provide guidance or support to apprentices or less experienced team members when needed
- Keep detailed records of time, materials used, and project progress to assist with job reporting and invoicing
- Represent the company professionally at all times, upholding a high standard of workmanship and customer service
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (Preferred but not mandatory)
- Minimum 1 years experience in professional painting
- Attention to detail and precision
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness of paint types, mixing, and application techniques
